And the Oscar Oops, Logie goes to...

Finally some Gold Logie Nominees I can get behind and possibly get interested in at the Logies!
Too often its like the 50 year old housewives of Australia have done the nominations, and its great to see a real cross section of programs across the nominees this year, instead of McLeod's Daughters, Home & Away and a couple of other randoms, usually including Bert Newton.

This years nominees:

• Natalie Blair from Neighbours (Carmella)
• Andrew Denton of Enough Rope (go ABC!)
• Adam Hills of Spicks & Specks
• John Howard currently appearing in All Saints
• Chris Lilley of Summer Heights High
• Lisa McCune in Sea Patrol
• Rove McManus of Rove
• Kate Ritchie in Home & Away (not for long!)

There's a wonderfully strong ABC contingent, Enough Rope, Spicks & Specks, Summer Heights High, which shows they're finally creating better Australian content, and we're finally watching it.
I think Kate Richie will win it, mostly because she has finally left H&A after 20 years, moving to radio.
I also think its great that comedians like Adam Hills and Chris Lilley are being recognised, I really am tickled pink at this years line up, and I only hope that someone other than Rove, Lisa McCune or Kate Richie win (despite their talents), as they're all multiple winners from previous years, let someone else have a go.
Of course, this doesn't mean I'll watch the Logies of course.
